Synopsis: A direct adaptation of the 1998 Italian film 'Il Burbero' (The Burglar). The burglar is a
crooked insurance agent who arranges bogus burglaries and robberies on behalf of
his clients and splits the inflated insurance claims. Bill and Mary Sharp are a suburban
yuppy couple heavily in debt to support their upscale lifestyle and arrange for a 'burglary'
to cover their expenses. They later have second thoughts and try to back out of the deal
but the burglar has other plans. One afternoon, Mary arrives home from work with one of
her girlfriends to find the 'burglary' in progress. To make the scene look legitimate, the
burglar ties the pair up while he empties the house and agrees to call the police later
to set them free. Mary is in a quandry - her friend has no idea that this is anything other
than a real crime, and she must act accordingly, but on the other hand Mary thought that
the deal was cancelled and makes no secret of her absolute horror at the sight of her
house being ransacked despite her being tied to a chair alongside her friend and
impotent to intervene.

Demo Reels: Very simple - using your own dialogue and the production stills from the original
as a basic framework, stage a scene or series of scenes showing how you interpret
the character. Interaction with the other character of the sister is important - play to
an imaginary character off camera, or employ a stand in to take the other part as
long as they don't dominate the scene. If you have different scenarios in mind as to
how to stage the scene you may include them as long as they are pertinent to the
scenario and not repetitive.
There is no fixed time limit on demo reels - to be quite blunt we have enough exper-
ience to know when to quit watching - or on the other hand continue to the end in
the case of a really compelling performance - you be the judge.
**We represent a broad based international audience and encourage those from
diverse ethnic backgrounds to audition.
